Sea Ranch Little Free Library
The Foundation created the Sea Ranch Little Free Library at the Children’s Environmental Play Park. The Foundation buys new books for young readers and accepts donated books. The Little Free Library has the design of the Turnbull houses at the Sea Ranch Apartments. The library has spurred storytelling in the park events for community children, who hear from local authors and choose books to keep. The Foundation supports the storytelling events.
Math in the Garden
During the summer of 2024, our maintenance and building crew members, Patrick, Paulo and Nick were busy reviving our school garden.
This year, k-2 students are being introduced to the curriculum, Math in the Garden (developed out of the Lawrence Hall of Science and funded by the National Science Foundation).
Chromebooks
During the pandemic, children living at the Sea Ranch Apartments could not access remote learning because they lacked high speed internet service. After a group of Sea Ranch volunteers, working with the Association, installed Sea Ranch Connect in the apartments, the Foundation donated new Chromebooks to each student. After Horicon reopened, the Foundation has donated Chromebooks to students who lack them at home.
